When I first started my AP Calculus AB course, I was beyond lost. With numbers and symbols swimming around my head, I reached out to Alex for help, in which he enthusiastically agreed. Throughout our time together, he has been encouraging and supportive as I navigated advanced mathematics; never once have I felt like I was burdening him with my questions. Alex is always eager to help, and he makes sure that you fully understand a concept before moving on to the next. This year, I went through all four quarters of calculus with minimal tears thanks to his tutelage, and I am proud to say that I am a million times more confident in my math abilities now than I was before. While I used to tell people that calculus was the bane of my existence, my time learning with Alex has shown me that math can be, in its own way, enjoyable. Alex has exemplary methods of tutoring, including using Desmos demonstrations, physical analogies, whiteboards, and more to fully teach concepts. What really helped me was how he was willing to work through homework problems with me -even over text! I am so grateful for the chance I had to connect with him!

At the start of my calculus journey, I scored a 22% on the diagnostic exam and was heavily contemplating dropping the course. However, Alex encouraged me to stay in the course, and he supported me through my learning. After learning with him, my scores immediately skyrocketed, and I did not score below an 85% for my entire first semester. In my first quarter, my overall grade was a 99.3%, and for my second quarter final, I scored a 101.6%! I would not have been able to do so without Alex's help!

I, like many others, was just a freshman and scared to ask for help with math because I thought it was something I should have already known and was afraid of looking stupid. Alex noticed I was struggling and offered to help me. I personally could not have ever asked for a better tutor. He was always available to help me, understanding and never putting me down when I didn't understand something. He was endlessly patient with me and made sure I understood the material and made good value out of our spontaneous 30 minute meet ups. Not only did he help me comprehend the material and improve my problem-solving skills, he also created a safe space for me to reach out whenever I needed help. I would absolutely recommend kaisei learning. It's amazing to have another relatively young tutor like a student, rather than an adult who I feel wouldn't understand me as well.

Although I still do not loveeee math, Alex definitely helped me to be more proactive about my learning, which helped me to hate the subject a little less. His enthusiasm and genuine care for his students/mentees helped me feel comfortable asking anything, no matter how silly I may think the question is. The fact that Alex was available and willing to help at anytime was amazing, and I was definitely saved during some late nights studying from his help! Additionally, Alex's Instagram stories were super convenient as I found myself constantly going back in the highlights to see if the problem I was stuck on had previously been posted (a lot of times it had been!). The use of social media is super genius in connecting with other students and I know for a fact there are other students like me who utilize the Instagram stories constantly. All in all, Alex is the definition of a loyal, understanding, and thoughtful mentor and friend who will never leave you hanging.

I received a 5 on both AP exams. More than just tangible results, Alex's eagerness to help me genuinely made me more eager to learn myself, which I believe is the most valuable accomplishment of all.​

I think there are two main ways Kaisei learning has been incredibly helpful!

1. The Instagram homework help has been part of my test prep routine for pretty much every calc test. It’s super organized, I love the color coding, it always hits the difficult problems that are always tested, and the explanations always seem to answer the questions I have without me even needing to ask them! This makes it unmatched compared to other tutoring help that I’ve found online. I’ll be sad next year without it 😔🤞

2. Second is the individual help, you’re always super enthusiastic to give advice even though you’re probably super busy which I really appreciate. And the explanations, again, are unmatched in their clarity and thoughtfulness.​

Alex is a great person to work with and someone to rely on. He responds quickly and always solves everyone’s hardest problem with ease. With daily uploads regarding some of the topic’s toughest questions, Alex never fails to help those in BC, like me, whether that’s with a great refresher for the topic, or for teaching me something I didn’t really get in class. Alex has extremely great handwriting so you can clearly read and know what is happening. On top of this, his hip attitude and ready-to-go behavior makes him someone very approached and someone I can go to first for help. Finally, he always goes above and beyond doing problems I may have issues with and that he may not have posted and discusses with me what I would’ve have done that gave me the wrong answer. Overall, Kaisei Learning has extremely helped me throughout my Calculus BC journey and can accredit a portion of my success to him. Even now after BC is over, he is still of help and helps me.​

Kaisei is what carried me through the divergence/convergence tests. With all the tests being taught in such a quick amount of time, it’s hard to keep up especially if you’re absent. Reading his notes and his problem walkthroughs are extremely helpful.

Kaisei learning was so good! Alex was super detailed and always willing to help, even at late hours. He helped me understand a bunch of super hard concepts like shells etc. His teaching style is very detail oriented, and it made me understand the concepts so much easier. I really enjoyed working with him and I highly recommend him to others.

I feel more confident when there are detailed helping tips at concepts I didn’t understand on the Kaisei Learning page. Many of these concepts helped me pass my exams and get over 90% on almost all my quizzes.
